synopsis
A taxi car enters Bucharest in the middle of the night, Mara and her mom seek refuge with relatives. As a curious passenger, Mara is observing the adults around her and starts doubting their reasoning.

Andreea Lăcătuș is a film director, interdisciplinary artist and cultural producer. Alumni of Sarajevo Talents (Director’s Lab) 2018 and Midpoint Training 2016, her graduation film, „The Beast” was selected to several festivals, including A List Shanghai IFF, Golden Goblet Award (2018). Andreea’s work focuses on social justice and human rights; her artistic research explores topics such as feminism, mental health and socio-economic vulnerability through various art forms including theatre, video and performative installations, films, and other multimedia products co-created with the communities she works with. She is a Fellow of CEC Artslink, Residencies in the US (2022-2024), collaborating with LAPD (Los Angeles Poverty Department). At the moment she is doing a PhD on „Narratives of representation of vulnerable communities through fiction film” and is in development with new stories for film.
