synopsis
Plica polonica is a disease people used to believe in that would make your hair uncombable. The main protagonist of the film- a severely tangled girl- goes on a search for a "cure". She seeks answers from the most tangled of them all- the infamous Baba Yaga.

Agata Tracevic was born in the year 2000 in Vilnius, Lithuania. The multiculturalism of Vilnius and her being a cultural minority inspires to look at identity with a different lens. She freshly graduated Vilnius Academy of Arts with her bachelor project and debiut film “Plica polonica”. She is interested in the depths of the human experience, the mystery and wisdom of fairytales and is inspired by her sometimes confusing lithuanian-polish heritage. She loves mixing animation mediums and using a collage-like graphic aesthetic to achieve a unique look. She mostly works on other projects and “Plica polonica” is her first directorial try, but she learned a lot from these projects. She worked as an rotoscope animator for “White Plastic Sky” by Tibor Bánóczki and Sarolta Szabó in 2021. She was also one of the co-creators for the animated parts for the lithuanian documented series “Mamontovas: Tyla garse” (eng. “Mamontovas: The silence in sound”). Right now she is enjoying her new start and awaits for new opportunities to create and tell stories.
